AYVARA — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026

This policy explains what AYVARA collects, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it in plain words.

Who we are

AYVARA is operated by Anastasia Nefedova, an individual based in the United Kingdom.

For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What AYVARA does

AYVARA is a film director for short-form content videos. You upload a short video you have made; AYVARA watches it, scores it from 0 to 100 against a rubric for your niche, and writes you a director's review. You can then ask follow-up questions about that video in a chat.

What we collect

Your account. If you sign in with an email address, we store that address. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and the email address Apple gives us — which may be a private relay address if you chose to hide your real one. We also store an internal user ID.

What you tell us about yourself. The display name you type, and your answers to the short questions we ask when you first open the app (how experienced a creator you are, where you post, what you are trying to achieve).

Your videos. The video files you choose to upload from your photo library, their length, and a single still frame we use as the thumbnail in your library.

Your conversations. The messages you write to the director and the replies it gives you, together with the written analysis, the score, and the reasoning behind it.

Your voice, while you dictate. If you use the microphone button to dictate a message, your speech is streamed for transcription while you are speaking. The audio is not recorded and not stored — only the resulting text is, as part of your message.

Your device's language, taken from your device settings, so the director replies in the language you use.

How you use the app. A fixed list of product events — the app opened, a video uploaded, an analysis finished, a message sent, and similar. And, while screen recording is switched on, recordings of the app's screen as you use it. These recordings show what is on screen, including your own video and the text you type. This and the review described below are governed by the same switch — Help improve AYVARA, in Settings → Privacy — and turning it off stops both.

Anything you send us through the feedback form in Settings.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment details — AYVARA is free and has no paid features. We do not collect your location, your contacts, or your advertising identifier. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

We do not perform facial recognition. AYVARA looks at whether the expression in your video reads as alive and engaging. It does not measure the geometry of your face, does not attempt to identify who you are from your appearance, and does not build any biometric record.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

To give you the service you asked for. Running the analysis, producing the score and the coaching, keeping your video library, signing you in and emailing you sign-in codes. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.

To make the scoring better. We look at videos that have been uploaded and at the analyses our system produced for them, to find where our scoring was wrong and correct it. This is done by the two people named below, by hand. It is how AYVARA gets more accurate for everybody. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the service you use. You can object at any time by turning off Help improve AYVARA in Settings → Privacy, or by emailing us.

To understand how the app is used. Product events and screen recordings, so we can see where people get stuck. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the app. Turned off by Help improve AYVARA in Settings → Privacy.

To keep the service running and prevent abuse. Daily limits on how many analyses one account can run, and security logging. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service.

How AYVARA learns from your videos

Two things are true here, and they are not the same thing, so we will say both.

No AI model is trained on your content. AYVARA uses Google's Gemini API on a paid plan. Under Google's terms for paid services, Google does not use what we send it — your videos included — to improve Google's products, and it is not read by Google's human reviewers. Google keeps limited logs for a short period solely to detect abuse of its service. We do not train, fine-tune or build a model of our own. Nothing about you changes the weights of any model, anywhere.

But we do learn from your videos — by hand. We watch videos uploaded to AYVARA next to the review our system produced for them, and where that review was wrong, we rewrite the written guidance AYVARA scores by: the rubric for each niche and the worked examples that go with it. That guidance is text we write ourselves, and it is how the app gets more accurate for everybody. It may contain a general, anonymous example drawn from something we saw — "a hook that promises a list and then never shows it" — but it never contains your name, your video, or anything that points back to you.

This is the work the Help improve AYVARA setting controls. Turn it off and your videos are not looked at for this purpose.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for advertising. Nobody outside the people and companies listed below sees it.

Who we share it with

We use the following providers. Each processes data only on our instructions.

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it.

Where your data is held

Your videos and our servers are in London, United Kingdom. Our database and our analytics are in the European Union.

Analysis by the Gemini API happens on Google's global infrastructure, which means your video may be processed outside the UK. These transfers are covered by Google's data processing terms, which include the standard contractual protections required by UK law.

How long we keep it

While your account exists. Your videos, analyses, conversations and account details stay for as long as you have an account with us.

When you delete your account, we delete everything — your account, your videos, every analysis, every conversation and any feedback you sent. This is permanent and cannot be undone. You can do it yourself in Settings → Delete account.

To remove one video rather than everything, press and hold its card on the home screen and choose Delete. Its analysis, its conversation and the copy held for the model go with it.

The temporary copy at Google made so the model can watch your video expires on its own within about 48 hours.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email support@ayvara.ai. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority in your country.

Age

AYVARA is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Our credentials are held in a managed secret store and are never written to disk on our servers. Access to the database and to uploaded videos is limited to two people: Anastasia Nefedova and Egor Khmelev.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If we discover a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
